Jacques Cavallier Belletrud used a precious oud called Black Gold, a Bangladeshi Assam oud essential oil exclusive to Louis Vuitton, as the starting point, adding floral fragrances composed of Bulgarian rose essential oil and Grasse centifolia rose essence. To create a deep and complex fragrance, he sought to penetrate it with light, revealing different aspects of the perfume one by one.

It is animalic, powerful and full of character, immediately letting you know that this is not going to be an easy or conventional rose fragrance. Myriad is fluffy, round and carries a mossy, animalic twist unlike anything else in the Louis Vuitton lineup.

Opening: The Black Gold Arrival

Myriad opens with oud, real oud with a pleasant dose of bite. The opening showcases an authentic Assam oud that has genuine character, though it is not as aggressive as some of Louis Vuitton’s other oud offerings. Saffron adds a warm, slightly metallic spice that weaves through the oud, giving the opening its distinctive, commanding presence from the very first breath.

Heart: The Rose Transformation

As the fragrance develops, the roses gradually move to the front and completely transform the composition. Bulgarian rose and Grasse rose create a deep, dark, beautiful rose, mixed with clean oud and a portion of musk to round everything off.
