Originally introduced in 2014 as an exclusive fragrance for Moscow, Russia, Kilian Paris created a scent that starts from frozen fire or fiery ice and becomes something entirely unexpected. A cool aromatic fragrance with a soapy undertone paired with soft rosy florals and tangy fruit, slowly taken over by ambroxan, creating a more lasting phase of subtly floral, fruity and blurry spiced woods.

Opening: The Frozen Fire

The initial blast of Vodka on the Rocks tenders gradually into a washed flowers accord, delicate by design yet strong in performance. Green cardamom and peppery coriander open with a cool, crisp blast of aromatics over a clean soapy base from the aldehydes. The rhubarb creeps in with a fruity tartness that is bright and slightly green, accompanied by a soft more abstract rose. The aldehydes blend extremely well with the cardamom, giving it that surgical cleanliness that makes you think of cold air on a Moscow winter morning.

Heart: The Shaving Cream Dreams

The initial soapy notes develop into something gloriously unexpected, a surgically clean fougère fragrance about wet shaving with a brush and a dangerous razor. All crispy whiteness, with transparent flowers of lily of the valley and geranium playing against the oakmoss. A fresh futuristic bouquet paired with a very nice rhubarb note. The rose here is soft and abstract, never demanding, always present, like the memory of flowers rather than the flowers themselves.

The ambroxan moves into play, first as a blurry ambery-woody aspect before growing in intensity.
